1. In the steel plate specifications, whether it is fixed length plate or coiled plate, the sales price is different for materials of the same material and material thickness with different coil width. Therefore, in order to reduce costs, efforts should be made to formulate the purchase volume width, and try to select the volume width range without price increase on the premise of ensuring the utilization rate of materials. For example, the size of the fixed length plate shall be selected as appropriate as possible. After the cutting is completed from the steel plant, the secondary cutting is not necessary to reduce the cutting cost; For coiled plate, the coil specification and process of uncoiling forming shall be selected as far as possible to reduce the workload of secondary shearing and improve the working efficiency.


2. There are deviation requirements for the thickness of plates. Generally, the plates with lower deviation shall be selected first within the allowable range of deviation.


3. The determination of the shape and size of the expanded sheet metal of stamping parts is the premise of analyzing the deformation degree of stamping parts, designing the processability and drafting the process specification. If the sheet shape is appropriate, not only the uneven distribution of deformation along the sheet can be significantly improved, but also the forming limit can be improved, the lug height can be reduced, and the trimming allowance can be reduced. In addition, for some parts directly formed after blanking, if accurate sheet metal shape and size can be given, the number of die testing and mold adjustment can be reduced, so as to shorten the production cycle and improve productivity.


4. When selecting materials for product design, avoid using materials of high brands to cause excess product performance. At the same time, on the premise of meeting product and process requirements, try to select the materials and material thickness used for existing mass production models to form a material platform to facilitate subsequent procurement and inventory management. For example, the key performance requirement of ordinary cold-rolled sheet is its drawability, so the low grade materials shall be selected as far as possible in accordance with the requirements of product quality. For the selection of material thickness, in addition to the strength and weight of the body after forming, attention should be paid to the popularization of material thickness. Because of the special material thickness, it is difficult for suppliers to supply and the price is high.
